Connected Automobiles

Constantly changing market conditions, increased competition, higher focus on customized demand, and globalization in the automotive sector requires constant innovation.

Analysis of Nozzle on Dish End

  • Structural Analysis was done for 6 nozzle loads; 3 forces and 3 moments
  • Structural Analysis was also done for internal pressure.
  • Steady State thermal analysis was done to determine the temperature distribution on the Dish End, Nozzle and on the Insulation.
  • These temperatures were mapped on the structural model to determine the thermal stress

Analysis of Complete Pressure Vessel

  • Structural Analysis was done for the entire pressure vessel with saddles
  • Saddles were of two types, fixed and on rollers
  • Loading consisted of self weight, seismic loads, nozzle loads, pressure and temperature loads

Thermal & Structural Analysis of Exhaust Stack

  • To validate the design for the Stack and Frame Assembly for Transportation, Installation and In-place loading Conditions.
  • To determine the temperatures due to different Thermal Conditions by a Coupled Thermal & flow Analysis.
  • To determine the Thermal Stress due to these temperature conditions.
  • To determine the Total Stress due to Thermal and Structural Loads like Wind Loads, Vortex Shedding and Seismic Loads.

Design validation of Hydraulic Valve

  • To determine the stresses and displacement of a hydraulic valve
  • Valve body, valve seats and wedge, which is used to control the fluid flow, were modeled for the analysis.
  • The valve was analyzed for various positions of the wedge.
  • Both hydraulic pressure and valve closing force were considered for the analysis.
